A GPS clock system is a high-tech product that utilizes GPS satellite signals to achieve time synchronization; its primary purpose is to provide a unified standard time to devices such as computers and control units within automation systems. The system receives standard time signals from GPS satellites and distributes this time information to various devices requiring synchronization.


Applications span public sectors and facilities such as airports, hospitals, power systems, railway stations, and broadcasting/television networks. Key output signals include 1PPS/1PPM pulses, IRIG-B encoding, and RS-232/422/485 serial interfaces, meeting the clock synchronization requirements of equipment in power automation systems-including computers, protection devices, fault recorders, Sequence of Events (SOE) recorders, safety automation devices, remote terminal units (RTUs), DCS, and PLCs. Among these, IRIG-B encoding is the preferred interface due to its high reliability, while 1PPS pulses are frequently used for SOE module synchronization thanks to their superior precision.
